David is Emeritus Professor of Nutrition and an internationally recognised expert in obesity and weight management. He has devised national references for body measurements which are used both clinically and in public health. He has over 40 years of experience in laboratory research and food composition analysis. His PhD focused on appetite regulation and meal choice in obesity. He has published extensively on diet and nutrition and has appeared as an on-screen expert in diet modification. He currently provides consultancy for the food industry and advises on food products. Until August 2021 David led a research group in public health nutrition. He continues to conduct and publish nutrition research. He brings expertise in dietary, recipe, menu and food analysis to ADDNutrition.
Dee has a first class honours degree in Nutrition from King's College London. She is a Registered Dietician and Public Health Nutritionist. She obtained a PhD from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2003 where she developed her expertise in analysing recipes and developing unique food composition databases. She has since worked for 16 years together with David and Afshan, undertaking research and training nutritionists in food and diet analysis.
Afshan has a BSc in Nutrition from King's College London and obtained her MSc with Distinction in Public Health Nutrition. She has over 20 years experience working in an advisory role in the commercial sector, the food industry and in public health nutrition research. Afshan has consulted on menu modification, recipe formulation and teaches dietary analysis techniques to students of Nutrition and Dietetics.
